It appears that some people just don't take their job search efforts seriously. So sad!
It just amazes me that it appears that some individuals approach their plans for a vacation more dedicated and committed than they do towards plans for obtaining a job..... then they wonder why they have not gotten hired yet.
Your plans and decisions for pursuing a job should be more important than planning a trip. If you do something half heartedly, then don't expect to achieve your goal. It's not going to happen!
Then there's the group that applies to a job and then become invisible and unreachable. It's like they were visiting earth and went back home to their planet-"Planet Unemployable Due To Own Fault!" What is up with that? Do they have extra time and money to spare? Don't they realize that time is money? Hello?
Finally there's the group that does not follow simple instructions that would have otherwise lead them to being hired. It's like they receive the information and forget how to read and/or comprehend.... because if they did follow the instructions given to them, their chances of being hired would have been greater.
Now if you will pardon me, I'm going to step down off my soapbox and short break now and return to my workplace playground (I just so thoroughly LOVE my job! Seriously I do!).
So what are your thoughts?
Employers--- what's your perspective/experience?
Job Seekers--- am I describing you or some folks you may have encountered as I described? If this is you, then my humble advice to you is to get with the program so your efforts are not in vain and you can get hired! What are the challenges preventing you from doing well? Share-I (or our fellow My Talent Network members) may be able to help. If not you but you want to get in on the discussion to contribute to helping those who are having this challenge.... looking forward to hearing from you.
